Aurelia design

After winning the Dr. James A. Lisnyk student ship design competition three times (2017, 2018, and 2019) during the SNAME event in the USA, a group of friends with genius minds and expertise in green system integration became a family.

Raffaele Frontera and Ton Bos, along with Maximiliano Mavica, Tomas Veiga, Federico Cascon, Leonel Yancsura, and Emmanuel Viglione, founded AURELIA Green Ship Concept Design in 2021, emerging in the maritime industry like a significant green wave, introducing innovations to a traditionally conservative sector in need of guidance toward change.

Identifying a communication gap between shipowners and technology providers in the green sector, AURELIA aimed to bridge it, accelerating decarbonization efforts.

Today, with a strong team of naval architects and with a big network of suppliers, without exclusive sponsorship, AURELIA it is a unique and independent company that support shipowners, pointing them to the right direction towards the decarbonization path with customized solution compliant with the latest maritime regulations.

The strength of AURELIA lies within its team, as each member brings a diverse expertise ranging from finite element calculations, systems integration, fluid-dynamic analysis, direct operational offshore experience, software development, to economic backgrounds, forming a cohesive and robust group.

This ethos defines our past, present, and future: a dynamic group evolving over time, capable of applying futuristic ideas while maintaining a practical operational perspective.

In the words of Enzo Ferrari, “Ask a child to draw a car, and certainly he will draw it red.” AURELIAS mission?, To ask a child to draw a ship, and they will draw it GREEN!

Those characteristic reflect in the role of AURELIA within GAMMA.

AURELIA is leading technically the group of 16 partners, researching the best solution from operational to design point of view. Different technologies needs to be integrated on board an operational vessel and AURELIA, among others responsibilities, is primarily responsible for the retrofitting strategy. Mitigating between the shipowners needs, the technical aspect of suppliers and the requirement from the class, AURELIA, as official technical coordinator and technologies system integrator in GAMMA, is creating the perfect synergy to a successful project, that can inspire the maritime sector.
