SINTEF is one of Europe’s largest research institutes, with multidisciplinary expertise within technology, natural sciences and social sciences. SINTEF is an independent foundation which, since 1950, has created innovation through development and research assignments for business and the public sector at home and abroad. SINTEF has 2200 employees from 80 nations and an annual turnover of more than NOK 4 billion. SINTEF’s profits are invested in research and innovation. Our vision is Technology for a better society.
SINTEF Industry, one of six institutes that make up SINTEF, is laying the foundation for the sustainable industry of the future. By leveraging our multidisciplinary knowledge base, advanced laboratories, and outstanding science, we collaborate closely with customers and partners to develop technology and interdisciplinary solutions that significantly impact society across diverse market and discipline areas. These include the circular economy, batteries, hydrogen, CCS, materials science and technology, nanotechnology, nanomedicine, solar, wind, biotechnology, metal production, process technology, and low-emission production of oil and gas. Our efforts facilitate climate-neutral production in existing and new value chains, providing the products and services necessary for a sustainable society. We achieve this by developing innovative solutions in circular economy, batteries, hydrogen, CCUS, materials, nano and process technology, nanomedicine, solar, wind, biotechnology, metal production, low-emission energy production, and sustainability analyses.
In GAMMA, our team will contribute to designing and optimising the performance of an MW-scale bio-methanol/ammonia-powered PEM fuel cell- Lithium battery hybrid powertrain using in-house modelling/simulation/emulation tools, such as Virtual FCS and ZESES-Opt.
